LeeAnn O’Neill and Ani Kasch are excited to team up with the Outdoors Women’s Alliance, Bend Bikes, and The Gear Fix to introduce women to bike commuting! LeeAnn is on the board of directors of Bend Bikes (http://www.bendbikes.org/), a grassroots non-profit organization which advocates for cycling for everyday transportation and improving cycling infrastructure. Ani literally bikes just about everywhere, including lugging her aging pup Jambi around in a bike trailer.
They will be going over tips on how to get on your bike more for every day transportation, whether it is to commute to work, go grocery shopping, handling aggressive drivers, staying visible to drivers, or just finding the best route with the least amount of traffic.
If you need a little extra support, they will putting together a small mentorship program, to match up new bike commuters to a Bend Bikes or OWA member to buddy up for a few one-on-one rides to help navigate your most common bike route!
