Climbing Shoe Resoles

Shoe Shop

Here at the Gear Fix, our specialty is climbing shoe resoles.  We’re located a short drive from the Cascade Mountains and Smith Rock in beautiful Bend, Oregon.  We pride ourselves in our attention to detail. Our goal is to keep you and your gear going for as long as possible.

We’ve got the knowledge, the experience, the tools, and of course, the rubber, to get you back out there.  We partner with most of the major (and not so major) climbing shoe companies out there in order to make sure that we can put the original rubber that came with the shoe, back on the shoe.  Partial to your current shoes but wanting to try a different rubber?  We can do that too.

We know these shoes are your babies, and we know that this cost money to do.  It takes a lot of trust to send your shoes off to get stuck on a grinder.  That’s why we GUARANTEE our work.  If you aren’t happy with what you get back, we’ll make it right.  Plain and simple.

  • Half soles – $40 [No edge shoes such as La Sportiva Genius and Futura – $60]
  • $12 per toe cap (in addition to half soles)
  • Minor sewing – $7
  • Little more sewing – $10
  • Replacement velcro – $10 per strap
  • Replacement strap w/ velcro – $15
  • Replacement strap d-ring – $5-$10 depending on difficulty

Our List Of Rubber Choices:

Vibram XS Edge, Vibram XS Grip, Stealth C4, Stealth Onyxx, Stealth Mi6, Stealth HF, Evolv Trax, Mad Rock Science Friction, Boreal FS-Quattro, Boreal Zenith

We strive to provide the best selection of rubber out there in our continuing effort to renew the stick without losing the fit you’ve earned.  If you are not sure what your shoes originally came with please don’t hesitate to contact us.  Most of these rubbers come in a few different thickness options, but please contact us directly to confirm current availability or if you have any other questions.

$50-60 (includes soles & rand work)

$7-$10 for any additional sewing

Choice of Stealth Dot Rubber, Stealth Mi6 Dot Rubber, or Vibram Ganda Dot Rubber

Have some shoes and don’t need them anymore or don’t feel like having them resoled?  Don’t just throw them away!  Send them to us or drop them off at the shop. We’ll use them for training purposes, then resole them & either donate them to local youth climbing programs OR sell them in our used gear shop and donate the funds to the Access Fund or one of our local climbing non-profits.  If it turns out they are beyond re-using, we’ll recycle them for you!

Below is a video of one of our apprentices practicing on some shoes.  While it’s not perfect, it definitely shows all of the work that goes in to keeping your shoes going.
